Established in 2012, GivingTuesday is a global day of kindness, generosity, and solidarity to support the community’s non-profits. It has grown from a simple concept to an annually celebrated day worldwide, with millions participating.
The majority of non-profits depend on donations from the public to fund their educational, research, advocacy, and support programs to advance their objectives. They often use in-kind donations to support their work, and there are many ways to support these organisations individually.
GivingTuesday has become a global phenomenon. At times when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity brings together people of all races, religions, and political views worldwide. Generosity empowers people to make a positive change in others’ lives and is a fundamental value that everyone can act on.
Around a third of all charitable giving occurs in December, with about 10% happening on the last three days of the year. This is because of the holiday spirit and the tax benefits that come with giving.
This year GivingTuesday 2022 falls on November 29, 2022.
