Upcoming Vaccination Clinics in the Town of The Blue Mountains

Posted On: Wednesday, June 23, 2021

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit has confirmed that COVID-19 Vaccines will be available the week of June 21st as a second dose for individuals who received their first vaccination at clinics held at the Beaver Valley Community Centre (BVCC) in Thornbury.

Upcoming Vaccination Clinics in the Town of The Blue Mountains

If you received your first vaccination at the Beaver Valley Community Centre, you will be contacted to have your second vaccination appointment booked. Please wait and respond if a message is left for you, even if it is to advise that you have already received your second dose.

Vaccination clinics are currently planned for June 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th at The Blue Mountains Medical Center with the support of Melody Fox Nurse Practitioner and Dr. T. Remillard and staff. At this point, a tentative date for a drive-through vaccination clinic has been set for July 1st, 2021. Further information will be released on the drive-through clinic next week.

As some individuals may have already arranged for and received their second vaccinations by other means, there may be an opportunity to provide vaccinations to others as well. Priority will be given to those using the Provincial priority rankings, with individuals over 80, particularly
those who have not yet had their first dose, and people with special medical needs given the highest priority.

If you are a senior and fall within one of the Provincial priority groups, you can express interest in an appointment by contacting:
• BVO Seniors Centre Without Walls: 519-599-2577 ext. 126
• The Blue Mountains Public Library: 519-599-3681 ext. 5 or by e-mail
LibraryInfo@thebluemountains.ca
• The Thornbury Pharmasave: (519) 599-2719
• The Town of The Blue Mountains: 519-599-3131 ext. 289

You will be put on a waiting list with an appointment confirmed if there is vaccine available.
Being placed on the waiting list is not a guarantee of an appointment.
In addition to the above, the Owen Sound Family Health Team is running a clinic at the BVCC on June 29th for people vaccinated at the March clinics held in Meaford. If you belong to that group, you will be contacted to book an appointment.

If you have not yet been vaccinated or do not have an appointment for your second shot, it is important you register somewhere immediately to make sure you are vaccinated as soon as possible.

Please register using the provincial online booking system for COVID-19 vaccinations at https://ontario.ca/bookvaccine. Those without access to the internet can call the toll-free number 1-888-999-6488.

You may also call the Blue Mountains Public Library or BVO Seniors Without Walls for assistance in online registering. You can also register at your local pharmacy.
