The Town of The Blue Mountains is pleased to announce that Adam Smith has been selected as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Adam has served as the Town’s Interim CAO since January 2025 and previously as the Town’s Director of Planning and Development Services since 2022. During his time with the Town, Adam has successfully led key projects and initiatives to advance key Council goals and priorities. “After a robust recruitment process, we are thrilled to welcome Adam Smith as the permanent CAO,” says Mayor Andrea Matrosovs. “Adam’s experience and leadership in advancing key community goals and priorities have been instrumental, and I look forward to continuing to work with him to guide the Town towards continued growth and success”. Adam brings extensive experience in municipal and public sector management and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brock University and a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University. Before joining the Town, Adam was the Director of Development Services for the City of Kenora, where he led a dedicated team focused on new investment attraction and community development. “I am honoured to continue to support the Town of The Blue Mountains as the new CAO,” explained Adam Smith. “Working with Council, staff, and the community to build on our successes and to create opportunities is a privilege. I am excited to continue to lead an excellent organization with an emphasis on collaboration and approachability to deliver on the priorities of Council.” The By-law to appoint Adam Smith as the CAO will be included on the September 29, 2025 Council agenda for enactment.
