Big changes are being proposed to Ontario’s Conservation Authorities — and your voice matters!
The Province is considering merging 36 local conservation authorities into 7 large regional bodies.
Grey Sauble Conservation Authority would become part of a region called the Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority, covering 23,500 km² and 80 municipalities.
This is slightly larger than Nova Scotia!
This could increase costs and bureaucracy, limit local programming, representation and governance.
We believe local watershed governance is essential for community safety, accountability, transparency, and protecting the lands and waters you value.
