Guelph Musicfest presents The Festival Trio in Thornbury

Guelph Musicfest presents The Festival Trio in ThornburySunday, May 26, 2024 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Location: Grace United Church, Thornbury

Celebrating its 18th season as one of Canada’s premiere chamber music festivals, Guelph Musicfest brings the FESTIVAL TRIO to Thornbury for a special Encore performance! Cellist Paul Pulford (New Brunswick) returns to the Festival Trio with violinist Sadie Fields (Brussels, Belgium) and festival director/pianist/friend Ken Gee. Paul, Sadie and Ken are the founding members of the trio and look forward to their annual reunion, this time performing in Waterloo, Guelph and Thornbury. The program pairs two of the greatest trios ever written—the invigorating Beethoven Trio no. 1 in E-flat and the sublime Schubert Trio no. 1 in B flat—with a mesmerizing and magical trio by British composer Charlotte Bray (born 1982), one of the most esteemed and in-demand composers of her generation.
