Grey Roots Museum & Archives announces the return of the popular concert series Our Roots Are Showing to the Thomas Wheildon Theatre this spring. The fourth annual series stretches musical boundaries while retaining a distinctly homegrown Grey County flavour. Experience the world of music in an intimate acoustic setting over four Thursday evenings from March 26 to June 11.
The first concert on March 26 introduces World on a String - Flamenco. This eclectic program blends vocal opera and Fado selections with classical and traditional Flamenco guitar solos, performed by Gary Santucci and vocalist Pamela Blackwood‑Marques. Gary Santucci is a guitarist, composer, arranger, and educator, now based in Owen Sound, whose career has been devoted to classical and Flamenco guitar. Pamela Blackwood‑Marques is a classically trained coloratura soprano who has performed in multiple languages and appeared alongside renowned vocalists and major ensembles.
The series continues
April 23 - singer-songwriter AnnMarie Rowland’s Pieces in Time
May 21 - Scottish-Canadian troubadour Camryn Ruthven
June 11 - dynamic jazz trio Between Two Hunters with Tyler Wagler making their debut
Tickets are now on sale for each concert. Single concert tickets are $20 each. A series pass including admission to all four shows is only $60. Grey Roots members enjoy additional discounts. See greyroots.com for tickets and more information.
