BVOChallenge2020 - $20,000 Goal
Posted On: Friday, September 18, 2020
Spearheaded by Georgian Peaks ski athletes have currently raised $15,000.
They now have a matching donor up to the $20k so NOW is the time to donate if you would like to support this initiative as funds are matched dollar for dollar!
The idea was initiated by Duncan Armstrong, a 15-year-old skier at the Peaks, but made a reality when nearly 30 teammates stepped up to participate and raise money for the Beaver Valley Outreach.
The athletes wanted to give back to the community and do their part when they heard the BVO needed help due to the temporary closure of its thrift shop. Athletes have taken on individual and team challenges such as weight lifting, running, planking as well as skate-a-thons and surf-a-thons to raise money.
While the athletes have raised nearly $10k to date, their goal is $20k so they would appreciate any donations to bvo.ca.
Please note 'BVOCHALLENGE200' in the 'in honor of' box on the website when making a donation so they can track their total goal!
