Update from Grey County

Business Recovery Guide

Grey County and local municipalities have partnered to make reopening your business a little easier. Grey County has developed the COVID-19 Reopening Guidebook to outline the steps you need to consider as you reopen and operate your business during COVID-19.

Download the guidebook here. The guidebook will also be available in hard copy soon.

Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign

We’re not done yet! Grey County and your local municipalities have also developed signs to help promote open businesses and build confidence among your customers.

To get a sign for your business, please contact your municipal office:

Outdoor Activity Map

Grey County Tourism has created the Outdoor Activity Map in partnership with member municipalities, conservation authorities, the province and others. We've mapped our public outdoor locations including waterfalls, trail access points, canoe and boat launches, beaches, and scenic lookouts.

The map will help residents, visitors and business operators find comprehensive and accurate recreation information including site usage restrictions, changes, and closures. The aim is to encourage people to enjoy outdoor activities in ways that keep everyone safe and healthy.

In time we will work in elements from the Business and Community Resiliency Map that will enable us to promote businesses adjacent to the outdoor spaces.

Grey County's Climate Change Action Plan

Grey County is developing a Climate Change Action Plan and is seeking community input.

The CCAP is a comprehensive strategy that will focus on identifying strategies to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This will help us mitigate potential impacts to our environmental, economic, social, and infrastructural systems. The action plan will focus on six key theme areas: buildings, transportation, waste, agriculture, land use, and energy.

Targeted engagement with the agricultural community is coming soon.

Starter Company Plus Recovery Program

The Starter Company Plus (SCP) Recovery Program focuses on aiding existing Grey County small businesses as they re-open and pivot their business models to maintain operations throughout Covid-19. Grants of up to $2500 will be awarded to eligible applicants to assist in offsetting the costs associated with this transition. Applications will open July 1st.
