THANK YOU, BRUCE!
It has been a glowing icon for years – over 40 in fact. The biggest Christmas Tree in the Blue Mountains. You might have noticed it on a dark night as it casts its glow on the area around the elementary school on Bruce Street. The Osborne Family have watched the tree grow from an 18 inch sapling to the massive tree that we see now. Along with that growth has been the light show that Bruce has had to enlarge over the years. Having been a TV repairman and antenna installer for a lifetime, even now at 82 he has no fear of climbing ladders. So as the tree grew so did his need to climb higher and higher. Now he has to lash two extension ladders together to get almost to the top of the 70 foot tree. Then a handy dandy arm extender of an aluminum pole with a hook on it does the last 10 feet. This tree doesn’t get lit up every year but this year it is and is spectacular. And the power bill? It too can be spectacular as well coming in the over $400 range. Be sure to check it out this Christmas Season.
